Committed to reducing their carbon emissions and increasing their sustainability, the client had unsuccessfully trialled a number of products intended to reduce energy consumption across their extensive care home estate. Having selected a typical care home as a pilot, Carbon Control Limited worked closely with the client’s energy management team to audit current performance. As part of our detailed audit we evaluated potential low carbon energy sources and highlighted the potential to integrate an air source heat pump to pre-heat domestic hot water required at the site. Following successful implementation, monitoring of results and confirmation that their investment will payback in less than 3 years, the client intends to incorporate low carbon technology as part of its extensive care home building and refurbishment programme throughout the UK.
